Niagara Golf Tips Instruction Advice
A Firm Foundation - the BASICS
When it comes to discovering "Golf's" dozen or so fundamentals, it is not difficult.
Teaching Pros, magazines, books, videos, and television programs are all excellent sources.
But, sticking to those fundamentals once your learn them seems awfully tough for many golfers --- usually because they can't resist the promise of a new idea.
For instance, I have a friend who has been a fine player for many years, but who could become even better if "experimentation" were not so irrestible to him. I doubt if anyone on the planet has taken more golf lessons than this friend of mine, and, as he often jokingly admits, he's never had one he didn't like.
The problem, of course, is that he never stays committed to any method long enough to work up any confidence in it.
The luckiest thing that ever happened to me as a golfer, was finding a "Fundamentalist" teacher, when I began playing the game. He taught me the "Basics", and I have held on tightly to them ever since.
If you are content "playing at" golf instead of "playing" golf, have fun with the Band-Aids.
But, realize that you'll never perform at your best for a sustained period.
If you want to build a solid, reliable game, find the kind of teacher I did and stick with what you learn from him or her no matter what.
