Rick is one of Niagara's most respected golf professionals. After caddying for Moe Norman in his early teens he took up golf in 1960 and began competing in local golf events. From 1962 through 1967 he worked as the Assistant CPGA Professional at the Hamilton Golf club and from 1967 through 1972 he was the Assistant CPGA Professional at the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club. Then from 1973 to 1977 he was the Head CPGA Professional at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club. He has been teaching individual and group lessons since 1977 at various driving ranges and courses in the Niagara region.
Rick is well known as "Mr. Accuracy" and held the accuracy title in Niagara for 15 straight years from 1962~1977 averaging over 90%, a statistic rarely achieved. Among his strengths as an instructor is encouraging his students to properly read the course, understand their own swings and realize that consistently hitting the ball straight and placing it accurately is the key to lower scores and more enjoyable golf.
